MINUTES

The meeting was called to order by Brenda Yackeren.

Treasurer’s Report Lynn Jass

Ending Balance: $36,845.54

Principal’s Report Mrs. Carufe

Mrs. Carufe will bring five 8th graders to St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Wednesday, 4/6/05, for the memorial mass for our Holy Father – Pope John Paul II. Full dress uniform required. Also, as per the Archdiocese, school will be closed on Friday, 4/8/05. It will be a day of mourning. Parents are the teachers of faith for their children.

Back ordered items have arrived and will go home with the children tomorrow.

Doll’s Tea Party Lynn Smith

90 tickets have been sold thus far. Mr. and Mrs. Martin have donated new doll’s clothes. They will be used for raffles. A receipt for the items will be provided. Baked goods are needed for the café table – only 1/3 of the kindergarten class has responded. There are many volunteers to help with this event. Set up can take place anytime on Friday 4/15 – coordinate with the priests for the opening and closing of the school.

$3,367.00 in orders received – full profit not known yet. Children will be able to wear their t-shirts on Earth Day – 4/21/05.

Ticket sales are slow. Nunzio will be selling tickets at the back of the church – 2 weekends in April and 2 weekends in May.

Playground Mrs. Carufe

Mrs. Carufe stated that all future discussions of the playground should be with Msgr. Martin as this is out of the scope of the SSL’s bylaws. SSL is strictly fundraising for the children. The SSL cannot set policy.

 

Nominations for Next Year’s Board – to be handled by Peggy Gallagher

Calendar of Events for 2005-2006 Brenda Yackeren

Events to be discussed at next meeting so that the school calendar can be set up for the next school year. Also Mrs. Carufe announced that Wappingers Central School District will have off Holy Week next year as it coincides with Passover. St. Mary School will be closed the week after Easter. Easter will be 4/16/06.

Brenda Yackeren adjourned the meeting at 7:20 p.m.
